Bedtime: A Short Story

Wednesday, October 9

Calliope has been having trouble going to bed the last couple days. She just isn't tired at the right time and she just wants to play when I want to sleep. When I need to sleep because I have to wake up at 5:30 in the morning.

Tonight I gave in and we're in the living room and she's being a crazy kid and just having a blast. I had all the lights off, hoping she'd get the hint that, "Hey! It's dark, you should be asleep." Of course it didn't really work. She just found her ball that lights up when you bounce it. Much cooler in the dark.

I ended up laying on the floor with a blanket. Just waiting for her to decide to get tired and I must have dozed off for a few minutes.

I remember texting Jason around 10. That's when his last break of the night ends. And then I remember waking up at about 10:15.

With Calliope sleeping on my head.
