I've spent the last couple days trying to figure out the best way to get my house decluttered and clean, and I've decided this is probably the best way to do it.

Haha, I wish. Actually, I made myself a little schedule where I will clean one room/area of the house each day. I'm hoping after following it for a week and really cleaning each room, after that, it'll be easy.

I started yesterday with a small area of the house: the stairs and upstairs hallway. This is the after picture. I'm not going to show you the before picture. Let's just say Max likes to lay on the landings and the cats like to sleep on the stairs. I don't vacuum nearly as often as I should and I emptied the vacuum canister more than once... I love my pets.

I pretty much just vacuumed and cleaned the railing and the windowsills. Carpeted stairs are dumb so the vacuming sucked. (Haha.) But other than that, it was pretty easy and hopefully vacuuming once a week will keep it from getting ridiculous again. I would like to not throw away enough hair to make a dog/cat fur coat.

Today I'm going after my bedroom. I'm hoping to maybe fill a box with clothes we never wear and getting rid of it. That would definitely help with the clutter in my room. I've also decided we should probably do laundry more often. Like everyday would be good. No more of this "ten loads of laundry in one day once a week" thing. A load of laundry everyday should probably not be that difficult.

Okay, I should probably get started. :)

  1. I can confidently say that wooden stairs are equally dumb.
